Well I am from the UK but I have lived in Abu Dhabi for over five years now…
FWIW - went out here last night. Effectively Medieval Times out in the desert (singing, light dancing, horse fights), with an o.k. buffet. Believe it was ~$100 a head, but the local guy had an entertainment book that knocked half the price off. 40 min drive or so outside of Dubai.
And… it’s technically a hotel/resort, so there’s overpriced alcohol on site.
If staying for a week or so I’d suggest buying The Entertainer. It’s available as an app and for around $100 gives buy one get one free main courses and entertainment options.
Pretty sure that’s what he used - we had 6 people and ended up getting 3 for free.
Yes we have ‘saved’ 10x the purchase price so far this year.
Though it’s a somewhat false economy as you wouldn’t have necessarily have gone to places if hey didn’t have offers. There is a spa version too.
The economics of the whole endeavour is something I’ve discussed many times. No idea how it works for vendors.
