Dessert wines for fresh summer berries?

I wouldn’t.

Some things are better on their own. Fresh ripe berries in the summer for example.

I love wine and drink it daily, but some things don’t need it. Watermelon, a good book, pineapple, chocolate, pancakes, cole slaw, and many more.

Berries of all kinds are wonderful on their own. Wine is too. Some things just don’t need to be together.

Jurancon sweeties fit the bill for me. That light honied touch sits well with the acidity of the berries. Not masqueing it with too much sweetness, and allowing the acidity of the berries to cut through the sweetness.

Looking at previous comments about Moscato D’Asti, puts me in mind of Dom Montesquiou La Bulle, a Jurancon Cremant, whilst not as sweet as Moscato, has that lovely honied vein, so that would work aswell.

A New Zealand late-harvest style Riesling. Wairau River once made an exceptional one…fruity, sweet, yet enlivened by a zip of acidity.
