Consolidated 2016 Beaujolais TNs

Been loving a 2016 Foillard [Beaujolais Villages] the last couple of nights, well chilled. Color is a light pale garnet, but a touch cloudy as I didn’t stand it up before opening. 12.5% abv, and fresh and light. Lovely floral nose, with crunchy red strawberry and gardening earth aromas too. No tannins, easy on the acid, and a lovely quaffer that is fancy Kool Aid for big kids. So great on a hot day, and to drink during daytime, with a light lunch of Chevre de Poitou and Wasa crackerbread. From what I understand this was the first year this multi vineyard blend was bottled up as a Villages AOC, but I really like it. Most of my cellar is heavy, grippy wines from big years whether its BDX, Rhone or other areas so its wonderful to have a glass of something so delightfully different.

A- in my ledger and a repurchase for me, in current releases. The SO loved it too!

2016 Louis Claude Desvignes Morgon Javernières Les Impenitents

Morgon through and through. I didn’t figure it out until the second night, when it finally started to unfurl a bit behind and around all the big structure. Ventures into the realm of dark fruits but with crisp acid. Give this wine easily 5-10+ years. Good in night one. Excellent on night two. And we ain’t seeing all the goods yet.

thanks for the note…have a few of the 17s but haven’t touched one yet.

My tasting note for the 2016 Marcel Lapierre Morgon N (San Soufre):

Like baby powder on your bum.
