Austin & San Antonio Recommendations

Jay, I just returned from a weekend conference in Austin. Quick thoughts: as noted above, I avoided lines at Franklin and went to La Barbecue, I found the brisket a touch salty but the chipotle sausage, pork, and pickles were all strong. Hops & Grain is a good brewery within walking distance of La Barbecue. Brunch at Holy Roller is good and the punk rock atmosphere and soundtrack was enjoyable (at least for me). Lastly, had dinner at Dai Due, hyper local sourcing of the entire menu, meat-centric with open wood grilling. The wild boar confit was sublime, only drawback is that hyper local sourcing includes the wines. With that being said, the beer list was more appealing.

Thanks John!

Jay, I would definitely recommend Lenoir for a meal. A second option would be Bufalina. Two great options with great wine lists.
