Wow, I would never guess someone would recommend the Vortex! I’ve been going to the Vortex since it first opened. I worked at the Center Stage Theatre in the early 90’s and the Vortex when it first opened was a 5-8 minute walk, so I went there all the time. Their Pimento Cheese burger is second to none!
Right across from Chops there’s a relatively new high-end shopping area and there are some nice restaurants in that complex, include a good French restaurant.
I live north of the city.
