Any experience with sudden food intolerances?

That one was super entertaining because of their interviewee. She is hilarious.

Cliff notes for folks- you can suddenly become allergic to mammal meats from a tick bite (in this case the lone star tick) . The tick anti-coagulant contains alpha-galactose, a sugar that also happens to reside in mammal meat. Since your body wages a war on the intrusion, it can associate that Alpha Gal with the need for immune reaction.

I only had a bad reaction to shellfish (shrimp) on one occasion. Was out with friends and had terrible swelling of my lips and tongue. No problems since then. A weird experience.

Maybe, the wine was at fault. Perhaps, a heavy oak stave was floating in its palate, and hit you across the face. [stirthepothal.gif]
