Good wine for Halloween party?

Post #1  Postby Wesley Dorlich » October 4th 2013, 9:40am

Does anyone have ideas for good wine that has a label or name that would fit with a Halloween theme? Nothing that is just marketing or just for Halloween.

Not:
Vampire Merlot

Somthing like this:
Hex vom Dasenstein Spätburgunder
Vin Du Diable Cortaillod
Ghost Block

How about Leitz's Dragonstone Riesling? Great party wine, not expensive.

Disclaimer: we sell this.

Les Heretiques. Faintly demonic-ish label. 100% Carignan, and under $10. It's actually good wine.

Retsina - stick it in a black bottle and watch the people's reactions. Ought to be fun.

We open a bottle of Ghost Block every year on Halloween. It started on a whim, and has become a tradition we all look forward to.

Another Charles Smith wine is a good choice (pricey but really excellent, plus a cool label):

Beat me to it - Florian Beck-Hartweg makes Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer from GC "Frankstein", which folks often read as "Frankenstein"...
