Paris recommendations - 3/4th Arrondissements

I’m taking my family to Paris for spring break in a few weeks. We’re renting an apartment in the 3rd near the Reamur Sebastopol metro stop. I usually stay across the river in the 6th when I’m there so I’m not very familiar with the area. Any recommendations for restaurants, wine stores, cheese shops, bakeries, etc. near where we are staying?

Here’s an excellent resource: http://parisbymouth.com/

Rue Montorgueil is close by and is a lovely pedestrian market street. Also, what Robert said above.

also this resource:

It is, indeed. Mariage Freres is opening a tea shop/salon there, too.

My favorite bread in Paris, Le Pain des Amis, is baked and available at Du Pain et des Idees, located not far from you in the 11th. http://dupainetdesidees.com/en/. A hard, thick crusted rustic loaf that I discovered while having dinner at Vivant a couple of years ago.

La Note Rouge (http://www.lanoterouge.com/), nearby on 212 rue Saint-Martin in the 3rd is a nice shop that sells a lot of AFWE wines, if you like those (and I do).

Le Musee de Arts et Metiers (http://www.arts-et-metiers.net/) is very close and worth a visit, if you haven’t been. A fascinating collection of industrial design and measurement devices.

your post is a little confusing because you say your apartment is in the 4th (arrondisement?) and near the Reamur Sebastopol metro which is in the 2nd arrondisement. There’s still arrondisement 3 that’s wedged in between.

If you are in the 4th and like (or are interested in exploring) old school Jewish deli (really old school), Maison David on Rue des Ecouffes is amazing.

You are right. I’m actually on the west side of the 3rd just a bit north of the 4th.

Going today. Thanks for the tips everyone.

Good family stop for very informal lunch or dinner is L’As du Fallafel in the 4e.

I"m going to beg to differ on this one. Maybe it’s because I’m exposed to the wonderful falafel of Taim in NYC, but I found L’As du Fallafel to be poor. The last time I ate there was in April of 2011, but I remember regretting the waste of caloric space.

Count me as a L’As du Fallafel fan (and not a big fan of Taim).
