Travel to Georgia, republic, not state

I was just doing a quick search and didn’t find any mentions of people traveling to the Republic of Georgia or its capital, Tbilisi. Is this just because it’s unknown, or weird, or… what? I’ve been there four times over the last year (was writing a new Georgian wine guide) and I absolutely love the place, food, wine. history, etc.

It’s very easy to get caught up in the rarefied air (that can at times be a bit foul smelling) of sommelier and wine professional circles but everyone is generally abuzz about the country, but it seems this hasn’t translated to the wine drinking public overall? Or are people secretly planning trips without saying?
