Looking for Rome Recommendations

Nothing fancy, just good food in a good atmosphere. Wine not a concern, will likely just go with house wines to gulp down with good food. Travelling with kids.

La Pigna in Piazza della Pigna, I think would fit your requirements. Not fancy, almost all locals, a pretty decent line up of house wines, by the bottle.

Thanks Patrick! Exactly the type of place I’m looking for. I know there are tons of places like this, but it’s hard to know if it would be a hit or miss.

Few of my 2c (and just back from Roma again)

Cul De Sav wine bar has a great both by the glass, and an excellent by bottle selection. Mostly priced at ~x2 market price (to x2.2, fwiw)
Great Roman food.

Ristorante Da Francesco
Ate their twice, maybe more. Great pasta and first courses, nice btg list. Can also be a super nice place for lunch

Trattoria Morgana
(Traditional Roman food at its best, imho, must have the gnocchi on days its served, note- limited supply on those days)
Go there, you’d love it. great wine list too.

Vecchia Locanda
Others on WB have been there as well. Can’t go wrong with their food or wine list

Gelato? Old bridge. Fresh every day, few times a day

You’ll get a lot of recommendations for Roscioli, and with good reason. Casual but fun atmosphere, fine with kids, great wine list, and killer everything: pasta, crudo, cured meats, cheeses, etc. I’ve only been for lunch, but I bet dinner is good too. Small place so I’d make a reservation.

moving to travel forum - would also suggest to OP to search this topic, as there are lots of great threads on this topic

Cave di S. Ignazio da Sabatino and Armando al Pantheon

Also, a must for kids

This, or their sister place Emma Pizzeria, which is a bit bigger and more diverse. Ate at both twice this trip, excellent. 68 month Pata Negra and truffles were on the menu at Emma.

Heading back to Rome in June for a week. Haven’t been for five years and am interested in recent recommendations. We are already planning to return to our favorites: Roscioli, Antico Arco, Armando al Pantheon, Il Sanlorenzo, Al Moro (a sentimental 40 year favorite), Colline Emiliane (ditto). Where else should we go for dinner, except La Pergola (been there, done that)? Thanks.
