Help with Buenos Aires accommodations-last minute

Today we learned we will have to find a place to stay for our trip there 11/22-12/6 with a few days in Mendoza in the middle. Does anyone have a rec for the Recoleta area? Studio or 1 bedroom is fine.

I stayed here in the Recoleta area and can recommend it.

Haven’t stayed there yet but we will be staying here while we are in BA in late December/early January. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/650942 Good reviews and we asked a local friend in BA about the street and area. She said it was a good area. Palermo not Recoleta but they are adjacent areas.

Thanks. We found a place that looks perfect for us in Recoleta.

Hope you enjoy your trip Jay. We are looking forward to ours. We will be in Argentina for Christmas and New Year.

I just back from BA. Everything quite reasonable with the Blue Rate at 15+.
Have a good trip.

Steven, how did you find a “safe” place to exchange your dollars? We really don’t want to do it on the street in full view. I want to exchange enough to pay for our hotel in Iguazu Falls too. Can save quite a bit by doing that.

Poetry in Recoleta.
Great location, great service.

now working on wine tours in Mendoza. I think there is a thread here somewhere.

Thanks chetkern. After the runoff election there may not be a blue dollar anymore but they may not be able to act that quickly.

Jay Winton, I am using this guy for our tours in December http://peterwinetours.com/ I communicated with several tour operators. Didn’t plan to drink and drive. Peter was the most flexible. I told him which wineries I wanted to visit and he set them up. One or two were not going to be open while we are there. He suggested some alternatives and the schedule is pretty much set but can still be changed if I choose.

Thanks. We decided to let the hotel arrange our wine tour. We’ve been enjoying BA quite a bit, eating, drinking and hitting the jazz clubs for some fine music. People here go late so not too much activity until late morning. We’re going to an aso do tonight which is a major meat grill that tends to go to the wee hours. Off to Mendoza on Monday.
