Book on Bordeaux

Planning to take a viking river cruise in Bordeuax next spring. Looking for a good intro book on bordeaux-regarding the area, history, and wineries

Not the most popular guy around here, but Parker’s Bx books have a lot of great info. I’d look up one of the older editions and get it for next to nothing.

Big fan of Oz Clarke’s Bordeaux book

Loved Stephen Brook’s The Complete Bordeaux

Yes Stewart, I’ve also got this book and it’s nicely opinionated without appearing egotistical, especially good for anyone buying back vintages as tasting impressions are given for the vintages he’s tried. It’s a weighty tome, as it covers a lot of properties, not just the top 50-100.
Not sure if it’s been reprinted, but it might be getting a little old if you want to focus on the here & now, but it does satisfy your interest in the history.

Not an introduction, but a good book nonetheless.
