Hotel in Brasilia?

I’m planning a trip to Brazil that will involve staying a night in Brasilia. Any hotel recommendations?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have not been but my colleague is from Brasilia and is there several times a year - and loves planning travel so here is her advice:

Hmm…from top of my head I can think of: Hotel Melia Brasil 21, hotel in the center of Brasilia | Melia.com that is pretty centrally located.

If they want to be closer to the lake then I’d say: http://www.royaltulipbrasiliaalvorada.com/en/?gclid=COzm37j3xsUCFQsFaQodsA8AYw
Might be good to mention that public transit in Brasilia is pretty much non existent…so renting a car will be key.

Also, if they have a chance to explore… tell them to go Chapada Imperial: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g303322-d2349378-Reviews-Chapada_Imperial_natural_reserve-Brasilia_Federal_District.html

Most of the hotels in Brasilia are in the hotel district which is basically dead center for the government buildings, sights, etc… You can pick a hotel in that area and pretty much walk just about anywhere such as government buildings, justice hall, TV tower, Memorial JK, soccer stadium, horse track, etc… The only bad part of walking around that area is crossing some of the major roads that run through there. Pedestrians are regularly hit by cars because people will cross where they shouldn’t.

We stayed at Metropolitan Flat and can recommend it:

Good ameneties, breakfast included, US styled electrical plugs and currency, fairly new and up to date, good restaurant downstairs, swimming pool up top, etc… There is a small indoor/outdoor mall less than a block walk away with a couple of nice restaurants, stores, food court, etc…

My thanks to you both–much appreciated!
