My parents (love wine, but relatively inexperienced when it comes to trying new varietals and “wine tourism”) will be in Sicily for a short day from a cruise ship. I have convinced them that Sicilian wines are worth a side trip, and they have contacted local companies to arrange private transportation.
I suggested they stop at Passopisciaro for the high quality wines, but the private tour companies responded by saying that although the wines are excellent; customer service (poor English speakers) and scenery are poor. They heavily recommend Planeta instead.
Has anyone been to both wineries and can comment, especially regarding the language barrier?
