Restaurants in Bordeaux

Any recommendations for restaurants for dinner in the old city of Bordeaux. We are set with wineries, hotel, lunches, etc. and are now onto dinner. Thanks.

I have nothing to offer except bon voyage (and envy)

I loved our dinner at La Tupina back in 2001. Best creme brûlée I ever had as well plus an extensive wine list with a lot of wines not available in the US. This sling with one other place was recommended by our hotel but I go not remember the name of the other right now. I can research it a bit.

Thanks Bob

We had a wonderful meal here in 2000. They are still one star Michelin. It was a very interesting place.

The November issue of Condé-Nast Traveler has a Bordeaux article with some recs, Howard.

Gabrielle is an excellent Michelin two star resturant but very pricey, however they have a bistro downstairs (called bistro Gabrielle) that is great and extremely well priced…ate there twice on a recent trip. Petite Commerce is THE local’s fish resturant and is great…always eat there when in Bordeaux and love it every time

I will second La Tupina.

Our concierge recommended Le Noailles - a small bistro - which we really enjoyed. http://www.lenoailles.fr/
and also Brasserie Bordelaise http://www.brasserie-bordelaise.fr/ which we did not go to but was recommended to us also by a friend in Bordeaux
We loved the area, have a great trip!

Thanks everyone for the help. Seems like some wonderful suggestions.

Not sure if you’re still looking, but I can second le Gabriel. Ate there in May and it was very satisfying and well done. Also le entrecôte for a great steak.
