Dallas Flannery Fest III...2012 Q1 Interest

Post #1  Postby Bill Tex Landreth » November 8th 2011, 1:05pm

With things changing for my work life, it looks like I will become quite a bit more flexible and will be able to wrangle another Flannery Fest down in Dallas early next year. I think there is a good possibility of hosting at a local's house, but the catch would be a smaller group...on the order of 30 to 40 max.

Just throwing this out there to see if we can get enough interest to proceed.

I am going with the previous format of lots of meat on a plate along with large format bottles that do not suck.
NOTHING goes over my head!... My reflexes are too fast, I would catch it.

Definitely interested depending on date. Assuming this wouldn't conflict with the Telluride event were you thinking late Feb-->March Bill?

And how far are you from Keller? grouphug

It would have to be Spring Break, so in March. Keller is about 40 minutes from my house not taking into account stupid construction or traffic.

I'm interested, and 20 mins from Keller, 25 mins from downton. I've got kids, so I'm generally tentative, but am very interested.

Gig would not be in Keller, but rather in the general Coppell area.

Nice.

I will firm up our location this weekend and start the list. I think 40 will be the realistic number.

It will basically be Spring Break for my kids, and I need to confirm on my end when I can get Grandma to watch the yoots. Tentatively, I think it will be the third weekend in March.

I'm very pumped up about this. Let's make sure it happens. Maybe we can lure R. Gregory and Levenburg into coming so we can duke it out on the merits of California cab and points.

It looks like we will have to postpone the event. The proposed host will be recoving from surgery and won't be able to indulge in any food or wine. Dallas being so BYOB unfriendly, it will be difficult to find another spot that will let us do this....plus individuals really don't want 40+ people in their cribs.
