Nice!

Forgot that my better half has to give a talk that night, so am at most just 1 and still working on getting a sitter.

Can’t make this one but it sounds great! Enjoy!!!

Have been traveling, so just catching up on this now…

I’m in if there is room for one more!

Thanks!

-Dennis

Sorry guys, too pricey for me. I’m out.

Yea I’m not really feeling the food or corkage on this one so I think I’m going to skip.

Great job planning, Tony. Thanks! champagne.gif

Hi, now I’m on the correct thread. I don’t always get updates??? Anyway, looking forward to dinner and seeing you all next week. Remember… Rioja is comes in all 3 colors…let’s shoot for some good variety and create some interesting pairings with this menu!

Thanks again Tony for taking the lead on this.

Some comments about the venue (Txikito) and food.

Thanks! Good read!

I may join… if late arrival is acceptable
Will sort through what I have at home and propose possible bottles

Welcome Michael. Let me know so I can include you in the reservation.

Sorry to bail but having trouble arranging a sitter, will see you all next time.

Tony/Crew,

I’ll be bringing a bottle of 1981 Marqués de Murrieta Rioja Ygay Reserva.

Is this at 7pm again?

Yes, 7pm. Is that a problem for anyone?

I am bringing a bottle of 1964 Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva. Anyone have Durand?

Woah, serious age you guys are throwing out! All I have at the moment are a couple of of 04 Reservas.

Jorge, I hear the 04s are drinking well!

I only had an 01 Lopez tondonia in my cellar so I decided to see what was available at retail. I was amazed at the selection of older Rioja available. Flatiron and chambers both have options with age for under 75 (some under 50) Astor has some cool options too. But these were a little pricey. $100+

I’m looking forward to this tasting and dinner. See you all in Tuesday.

I’m bringing Marques de Arienzo Rioja Gran Reserva 1985.

I went to Chambers and they do have a nice selection of aged Riojas from private collections.

If anyone has “disposable” caliber decanters, this might be a night to use them, or else we will have to take turns on who gets the ends of the bottles! Or any other suggestions for lots of sediment.

See you all Tues.

Or any other suggestions for lots of sediment.

Keep the bottle upright for 2 days. All the sediment will sink to the bottom.

How’s the stemware at Txikito?
