SF Bay Area/Peninsula Sept 22 Offline

Now that everybody is back in town, back in school, back to work etc…slave to the grind!!

Maybe time to start planning our next offline.
Any new places to try?
Previous restaurants?

Date: Sept 22
Time: 6:30 pm
Place: Cooking Papa

Theme: Red/White Burg, Riesling?

Anyone game?
Let’s get it going -

Wino’s -

Craig (Cpt jack Sparrow)
Ed (hiding behind wife’s skirt)
Dan (organizing jack shit)
Larry (wishing he was living in the 80’s, still)
Sandi (boss of Larry)
Harold (Nike)
Rich (strangely)
Cindy! (drive by poster)
Alan (occasional bather)
Andrew (needing love)
Chiara (boss of Andrew)

I’m not available 9/9-9/17.

According to the old saying, doesn’t one always drink Burgundy in months that end in R?

Dan I’m down given the date. As for places to eat its a pretty sad selection on the Peninsula. I don’t really care what restaurant is chosen as long as corkage is reasonable and the wine interesting. It is really about the wine and company isn’t?

On second thought what about Chinese again? Gary where are you!

I am right here! I thought Chinese is a cny thing but it can be arranged.

But it’s going to be tough for me to join. Once school starts my week nights are basically logistical nightmare in shuffling kids.

Cooking Papa again?

I missed the last one and it sounds like they were cool with it.
plus they have consistently good food.

Anywhere else works too.

How about 9/22?

9/22 is good for me right now.

That date works for me, too. Not sure yet about Sandi.

Dude, man up and just lay down the law

Just don’t tell my wife I said that or hitsfan

Perhaps Gary will get lucky when he shuffles the kids and he’ll draw an inside straight.

I am out of marriage credits for a while since I am going to Germany over the weekend to drive the Nurburgring and taste some wine

Nice, and have some beers too. [drinks.gif]

I can do this.

Strangely 9/22 is open for me. Burgundy is always good.

If we’re going to do Chinese, whites (high acid) and reds are the ticket. Burgundy always works, but I’ll probably want to bring some German Riesling.

How about wines that go well with Cooking Papa’s cuisine? [drinkers.gif]

Sorry is another color I’m not aware of newhere

Is that also speak-like-a-pirate month?

Well, blow me down! Avast, me hearties, what say you to September 19th, International Talk Like a Pirate Day? Rum offline?

Still, Baarhrgundy on the 22nd would shiver me timbers.

Hi Guys & Ladies,
My name is Chris and I am moving to the Bay Area from Denver next week. I am a big fan of Red Burgs, Riesling and anyone who likes Red Burgs and Riesling. [cheers.gif] Truth be told, Barolo is also near and dear.

Would it be okay if I join the festivities? I will try to remember to bath that day. (Not sure of the protocol for this sort of thing so please educate me if I am overstepping here.)

Thank you!
Chris

Chris,
Welcome! I added you to the list.
Where abouts will you be moving to?
We usually hold our tastings around San Mateo/Redwood City.

Craig,
I just assumed since you said ‘months that end in Rrrr’ and didn’t even realize Sept 19!
