When I first started getting into wine I asked my Preffered retailer if I should age a mag of Silverado reserve. He said it would probably be fine but what’s the point. That’s what I thought about when we tried the Roulot.
Nick opened a 2012 Roumier Chambolle on Friday afternoon to see what they’re up to. Here’s my note:
“The best two words to use to describe this wine are; purity, & youth. Lots of pure red fruits throughout; pomegranate, cherries, and cranberry. The fruit profile was cool and, at this point, pretty tightly wound. I tracked this wine over the next 24 hours and with air the tannins seemed to grow and become more prominent - but the good news is that, with time, I think the tannins and fruit will really come together into something special.”
