The olio nuovo offer just went out at Rare Wine Co, not sure if anyone is interested…a three-pack with two Grati oils and a Colognole, ships next week. They report that 2016 was an excellent year with yields down 50-90%. Sounds like recent Burgundy vintages

I guess one needs to like that style. I bought the 2015 Colognole and it was a tannic beast. So bitter I could barely use it. See here, not my cup of tea:
The '15 Selvapiana that was just beautiful as olio nuovo had much more (too much) of an assertive peppery bite in what arrived by boat in March, but after several months that resolved into a very good oil, am working on and thoroughly enjoying my last bottle now. To me that peppery, green assertiveness along with super fresh fruit is what makes Tuscan oil great.
Yeh, I guess it’s just not my thing. But - it works for most, so that is great!
