Pairing for Beef short ribs in mole poblano: younger or older cornas

I’m preparing beef short ribs w mole poblano for a dinner party, and need to decide on a wine. We’re having two pairings. In addition to Ridge East Bench Zin, I wanted another option, and was thinking Syrah. This led me to Cornas. Between these two options, which would you choose?

2012 Vincent Paris Le Geynale
2003 Colombo Les Ruchets

Both are magnums. I can decant with plenty of time. Preferences?

Happy to hear any other suggestions as well. Thanks.

I have not had either wine. I just wanted to compliment you on your entrée choice! Beef short ribs - yum!!

Thanks–we love beef short ribs when it gets cold. Also a no-brainer dinner party choice, as they can be prepped the day prior (or earlier). At any rate, someone else purchased the 2003 Cornas, so Le Geynale it is. Will probably decant around noon the day of the dinner.
