I love Il Poggione; I had a really wonderful bottle of their 2001 Riserva a couple of months ago.

YES Frankā€¦such tasty. Even on Day 2.

What surprises me every time how good italian wines works with pasta/tomato sauce. Normally tomatoes is a no-go with red wine, but in case of these italian wines I think they need it and they shine with these dishes. I had this 2004 Brunello a couple of months ago with another food and it was good, but not great. Now it was great great.
