Columbia, South Carolina

Anywhere good to eat, preferably with decent wine? I’ll be traveling for work and unable to bring anything good with me.

Hmmm, I am not much help. We drive through Columbia from time to time, but rarely stop. I looked at Trip Advisor and I just don’t kow enough to make a suggestion.

There are a couple large wine stores, if you need a bottle for the hotel or whatever. If you found a good bottle, most of SC is BYO friendly.

Don’t know much about the Columbia dining scene, but can recommend these:

116 - Spanish wines and Spanish-inspired food. http://116state.com/index.php/menu

Terra - Menu: http://www.terrasc.com/menu/ Wine list: http://www.terrasc.com/drinks/ West Columbia, not downtown.

Blue Cactus Cafe - Fun, funky mash-up of Tex-Mex and Korean. I love the food; bring your own wine. Blue Cactus Cafe

Green’s and Cellar on Greene are your best bet for finding a nice bottle.

Thanks, Robert. Terra actually looks really good!

My favorite in Columbia, SC is Motor Supply Co. Decent wine list for the area as well.

Thanks, Mike!

About a half hour from Columbia, in Lexington, this place was an excellent find for a modest, but all homemade country lunch this week. http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-farmers-shed-restaurant-lexington?sort_by=date_desc
