Eating and Drinking in Vermont

Two very good meals in Vermont.

The first was at Solo Farm and Table. Solo is run by Chloe & Wesley Genovart. Wesley is an accomplished chef and prior to Solo was the Chef at Degustation. He has cooked some of my most memorable meals and I have been trying to get out to Solo to see him again for some time. Chloe was Maître D’ at Per Se. They decided to leave NY and buy an Inn. The two of them do everything at the Restaurant and it is very special. I did hear that it took them a little time to get the kinks worked out, our meal was excellent in every way.

The second meal was in Woodstock at Osteria pane e salute. Another husband and wife team and very special. Deirdre Heekin is also making a name for herself as a winemaker and is also an author.

Coincidentally a NY Times article was written this week.

Two very special places that I would highly recommend.

Thanks, Robert! Did you have the “house” wine in Woodstock? How was it?

There’s a thread on this wine already…

One day we are getting to VT for fall colors, maybe in the next few years, so I’ll bookmark this spot.

I did try the wines and toured the winery/farm/vineyard on Sunday. I am a big fan of natural wines and I loved them. It is a fascinating true Garagista operation.
