Had a root canal yesterday and needed something for the pain.Started with an 07 Montee de Tonnerre- clean, fresh, great salinity beautiful aromatics- a perfect chablis opener 92+/93 and just opened a 90 Haut Brion- deep dark woods, tannins still aren’t resolved ,but drinking quite nice93+/94 .Probably both would be more expressive on a flower or fruit day( root day ) , but since its a beautiful sunny ,high barometric day- still showing pretty well.Pain in the mouth is gone, didn’t want to take one of the vicodin.I’ve loved this HB since I purchased a number of cases in 95 at 80 a bottle.Bought out all the local retailers because I thought uncle Bob under rated it. I’m a tough rater- could be 96/7 for most people. 07 Montee de Tonnerre is good to drink now, 90 HB is good for another10-15 yrs before plateauing.
