Saturday Pre Theatre Lunch NYC?

It’s 3 months away (late March) but I have theatre tickets for Larry Davids new play. It’s on a Saturday at 2pm. Can’t think of where to have a nice lunch before the play. Maybe some drinks and apps after the play. Any suggestions?

Molyvos does a good brunch. Check out the prix fixe menu as well as the a la carte

Trattoria del Arte is also good.

Boulud Bistro Moderne also does a good Saturday brunch

Thanks for the suggestions, anything more upscale?

For upscale my first choice would be Marea (mostly the usual lunch menu - their main concession to brunch is adding a Bellini to the cocktail list). It’s a little north of the theater district.

Ai Fiori is a little south, but they are also very nice and a little more brunchy. They have a very nice buffet plus you get one entree - I recommend the Ligurian Crustacean Ragu. When I was there service was a little slow - we had to flag down our waiter several times as he was busy talking about his theater classes and auditions with other workers.

Jean Georges? Should be able to get out in 90 minutes if you just do 2 courses.

esca at 9th and 43rd is a great spot and pretty close to bway

+1 on esca- outstanding raw fish,grilled octopus,pasta neri,fritto mista…

Esca seems a really good idea
