Learn more about Le Grappin

“My vision for Le Grappin is to seek out these special sites in the over-looked, under-appreciated reaches of Burgundy, the spiritual home of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. I search out viticulteurs who tend their vines throughout the year, with exceptional care and attention, to give the grapes the best opportunity to shine. My job is just to ensure the wine reaches it’s true potential, working by hand, with small lots, giving each wine as much care and attention as my viticulteurs have paid to the vines. I believe one finds a sense of detail, purity and frission in my wines that results from this maniacal focus and I hope you find as much pleasure in them as I had in making them.” – Andrew Nielsen, Le Grappin

“One of the top 25 Négociant Winemakers in Burgundy”
Tim Atkin MW

“they’re quite beautiful, with freshness and a transparency that really allows the terroirs to speak”
Jamie Goode, Wine Anorak

“One of the top 10 unsung Burgundy producers”
Bill Nanson, The Burgundy Report

“…these are wines that will make any Burgundy lover very happy”
John Gilman, A View from The Cellar

Learn more about Mark Haisma

Mark spent a decade working together with the late Dr. Bailey Carrodus of Yarra Yering in the Yarra Valley. His passion for making a wine that expresses the purity of the fruit and further reflects the soil they are grown is what drew him to Burgundy. He makes wines that are bright and fresh and uses a ‘hands off’ approach to create a pure expression of the terroir.

“He seems to have struck gold. His wines have an excellent balance between fruit, expression and refreshment without being in any way wimpish. The wines are also, appetisingly, bone dry.” > -Jancis Robinson

Mark is on Jancis Robinson’s list of “Over performers”

Mark Haisma was named a “Top 25 Burgundy Producers to Watch” by Tim Atkin (2013 & 2014)
