FDA number for wineries

I had a distributor ask me for mine, and I can’t recall this ever coming up before. Is every winery supposed to have one? If you’ve been down this path already, what’s entailed in getting one? Actual FDA inspections (shudder)?

Maybe they meant TTB Bonded Winery Number, which I believe distributors are supposed to have on file.

I’m not sure if domestic producers need an FDA number but I know overseas ones do (so I assume local guys need it). It’s pretty simple actually, you are registering as an agricultural facility and the website pretty much walks you through it.
