Corkage at August is no longer free; $20 per bottle, unless it’s a bottle of “personal significance” and you call in advance to arrange.
thank you Jason. Seems that list is a bit out of date but it’s an excellent starting point nonetheless.
I’ve reached out to a couple restaurants in New Orleans about their BYO policies in advance of an upcoming trip. Brennan’s charges $25/bottle, and Arnaud’s charges $30.
I just sent you an e-mail with a sample itinerary.
In New Orleans for a couple of days and had 2 dinners with no corkage. I was pleasantly surprised.
Galatoire’s
Marcellos
A couple more data points… Doris Metropolitan and Desi Vega’s, two of the nicer steak joints in town, $25/ bottle.
Brigtsen’s fee is $25/bottle.
Lola’s charges a measly $7. Plus, they sort of encourage you to go across the street to Swirl or Canseco’s Market, pick up the bottle of your choosing and bring it back. Yeah you right!
