Weaver's American Light Whiskey

This one surprised me. 7 years old. It is a light whiskey, so no charred oak was used which leaves a really smooth, almost sweet caramel flavor. Buy it if you can find it.

Interesting, haven’t seen this one…“American light whiskey” also by definition means it was produced at >80% abv (“bourbon” must be < 80% with most notable producers at 60-70%). Distillation at higher abv typically implies lower flavor / mash character of the distillate meaning the resulting flavor is predominantly the barrel impact. But if it’s tasty, that’s the proof to me!

Interesting article from Cowdery on light whiskey

Very nice article. I wasn’t familiar with a light whiskey until I tried this one. Very prominent toffee, caramel flavors.
