I found a Shipyard Pumpkinhead in the back of my beer fridge tonight. I’m usually so-so on this beer and it had been standing up in there since September or October. I opened it on a whim and was really surprised to find a nice mix of pumpkin, crisp red apple, nutmeg and cinnamon. I’ve noticed all these flavors in this beer before, but the pumpkin had been dialed back and a much more prominent apple note had emerged; it was delicious. This has really given me a new outlook on this beer.
