About 5 or 6 years ago, Robert Parker did an article on the Tesseron Cognacs in the Wine Advocate’s Hedonist’s Gazette and he raved about them. If I recall correctly, he scored the Lot 53 @ 98 points and the Lot 29 @ 100. Since then, the prices on both Lots have more than doubled and I am no longer a buyer. Before RP’s reviews, I was getting the Lot 53 with a pair of Riedel Tulip Cognac glasses for $100 at the old Sam’s in Chicago, but now the Lot 53 alone is hard to find for under $200. While the Lot 53 is superb, at this point I’d rather pick up two bottles of the Jean Fillioux Tres Vieux for $100 each than one bottle of the Tesseron Lot 53. Of course, YMMV.

Yeah sorry not sure about pricing, I had it last in a restaurant.

I like the Filioux TV, am just finishing off a bottle now, but I prefer Normandin-Mercier XO for similar money, its a fuller style.
