Economic bubble

Walking into a Duty Free shop or even a retail shop I am amazed of the prices asked for premium spirits especially Cognac and Scotch but to a lesser extent a few cult Bourbons? I have been madly hunting premium bottlings from 10-20 years ago that have been overlooked on retail shelves or from collectors. Does anyone think that the quality of these new products have improved to warrant the skyrocketing prices? Your thoughts?

Seeing Louis XIII for $3000 and Hennessy Paradis for $1000 as well as Macallan bottlings over $1000 recently had me walking away shaking my head.

Diminishing returns in the world of wine and spirits. If you are agreeable look to beer. You can easily enjoy the best around without breaking the bank. However, this will not be valid long.
