Ever feel like a museum curator?

I’m always scrounging around for older bottles of wine for the stores, so I often find myself acting like a museum curator: determining provenance, quality, and value. The main difference? All the “art” I acquire for the “museum” are sold fairly quickly, so nobody gets to admire them for long hahahaha

Anyone else in retail or restaurants feel like they’re building a collection only to destroy it with a few sales?

What annoys me is when management forces us to make a display using every case of a wine we got. Then 10 minutes after cutting and signing the display we sell a case then have to dismantle the display because management says it doesn’t look good anymore.
