TN: Jadot Beaujolais Villages 1974, Warres 1994

I have tasted one or two older Beaujolais which had the flavors of a good Volnay. I had some hope that this one might surprisewhen I pulled out the bottle, the color was a beautiful, red. In the glass light colored, light bodied, but any hope that this would be a Burgundy look alike went away quickly. A touch of fruit but no complexity, thin, acidic, and got worse over time. We managed a glass, and used the rest as sauce for the lamb, and started on the Port early.

Good medium grade Port, has the soft exoticism of the vintage, some nice tannic structure, and it really nailed the finish. Great length. This is ready to go if you like your Port tame and still primary. Nice effort. 92
