Favorite Barbera under $20

My vote is for Marcarini’s Barbera d’Alba Ciabot Camerano (~16USD).

Go ahead, make your list…

Caveat: Question is limited to wine. Behave.

Oddero. In these parts, ~ $17.

Brezza Cannubi Muscatel

Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d’ Asti
Castelo Di Neive Barbera d’ Alba Santo Stefano
Giovanni Corino Barbera d’ Alba

Mm. Vietti is a close second. Marcarini is a sentimental favorite.

The Marcarini is a winner.

Slightly above 20, but I am in love with Bartolo Mascarello Barbera d’Alba. Hard to find though, as it’s a tiny production.

I have found Cappellano Barbera for 20$, quite a treat

Barale and I’ve only been able to find it at one store in the U.S. - Chambers Street

Vietti Tre Vigne Barbera d’ Asti - Vietti for the win as it is one of the few with consistent local availability and pairs with a variety of food.

My vote goes to Vietti.

Vajra Barbera d’Alba – The 2011 is smoking good and I picked up a 6 pack for $19 per bottle

thanks for these. I’m drinking more Barbera this year!

Under $20, Oddero, preferably the Vinchio bottling. A good buy in a challenging year, a great buy in a solid year.

I popped this thread open with the intention of posting this wine. So, +1…

Iuli - I like Oddero, too.

I don’t have anything to compare to but a local restaurant serves Cantine Valpane by the quartino and I really liked it. What do people think of it and if I like it, what would be some others I should try?

Not sure if it is my favorite, but had the 2011 Damiliano yesterday and liked it.

It’s hard to find, but Carussin Barbera d’Asti is quite good.

Tasted the Alessando Veglio Barbera last week. Pretty good. Young winemaker from La Morra and not much exposure in the US. We will see how he does.
