the new “Bourgogne Côte D’Or” appellation (covering the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune) was approved. so we’ll now have a new “quality level” in between Bourgogne Rouge/Blanc and Village appellations. sheesh…

Well, hopefully the price of the straight Bourgogne will take a hit in price and the newly formed appellation will be at only a 5-10% premium.
Somehow I don’t imagine it will end up that way though.
