Eclipse wines

What an amazing sight! My wife and I made the trip over to Greenville Sunday night and than up to Lake Keowee yesterday morning (dead center of the path of obscuration) to observe the eclipse. Perfectly blue sky. Called for some accompaniments.

Krug Grande Cuvee - Full on Krug power and depth.
2014 William Selyem Un-oaked Chardonnay - chardonnay at its purest. No tropical fruits. Stony with lemon curd.
2012 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echezeaux - Lots of black cherry and touch of sweetness. Very easy to drink both in and out of darkness.

Over 2.5 minutes of totality, I should have also had a corona

Anyone else enjoy eclipse wines?

We were on the 15th fairway at Dismal River Golf Club near Mullen, Nebraska also in the path of totality. We opened 2 Corona Lights and a Fat Tire to celebrate! Really glad I got to experience it.

School night so nothing, but it sounds as if you did it right Kelly!

Brickstone APA and Underwood rosé in cans

We were just up the mountain a bit in Highlands NC. It was fairly cloudy, then they broke for the main event. C3 began with a piercing diamond of light, like the birth of a star. We were cheering and cheersing with Roederer and Krug!

Awesome! That fraction of a second before and after totality was mind bending!

You are right, I didn’t think I would be so excited!
