  • 1979 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Montefico - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (7/24/2017)
    Complex aromatics of dried flowers, earth, chestnut and Indian spice. It is rich and full in the mouth with sweet berry and cherry fruit. There’s a thread of licorice weaving through the flavour profile and tannins are rounding off nicely. Length is good.
  • 1989 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (7/24/2017)
    Has some truffle and porcini development on the nose. There’s a core of sweet red fruit. It is complex and ethereal and drinking beautifully today.

How long do you usually age the normale?

I find around 28 years is just about right.
