2007 Tua Rita Giusto di Notri Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (7/22/2017)
Decanted 3 hrs. Very Cabernet on the nose, loads of quality cedar aromas and mint, underlying notes of chocolate and fresh dark fruit. Dark, sweet berries on the palate, and while this might not appease those seeking the more bright red cherry fruit that typifies the region, I found the complexity and overall package very appealing. Furthermore, the elevated level of acidity (and tannins) really give the wine a unique identity and character, hard to believe this is all French grapes with no Sangiovese in the cepage. maybe some development ahead, but its ready to go, and should hold for a solid 5 to 10 years.
