1979 Joseph Phelps Johannisberg Riesling Selected Late Harvest - USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena (6/26/2017)
Dark brown in color, with a firm apricot nose. Very nice sweetness, but not much acidity to balance it out. The wine is close to appearing cloying due to the lack of acid. It’s still very good, and an excellent wine with apple pie. (90 pts.)

Dark brown in color. An excellent balance of sweet and acid, with a reminder of dark molasses. Going strong with no sign of letting up any time soon. (93 pts.)
