2000 Sherwin Estate Cab

My very last. Brought this home from a tasting at the winery, which if memory is correct was in construction. We toured the building then sat outside with Steve and enjoyed his wines. This was my 3rd time tasting with Steve. The first 2 times we tasted out of his house and boy did we get into trouble with his spouse one time. He was going to an event in SF and we got $#@$ faced on his deck trying his 96 and 97s. It was 4 of us and we went through a few bottles. Not sure how we exactly got down spring mountain road. Maybe we walked. Back to the 2000. This might be the wine of the vintage, its holding strong with a core of mountain fruit and still at age 17, some grippy tannins. Absolutely no bricking and its deep teeth staining Cabernet. A pleasure to drink. The fruit is pure and no green notes. The nose is deep blue fruit. All-in-all, a great wine. Was still singing 4-5 hours in. 94 pts.
