NV Robert Moncuit Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut - France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru (6/22/2017)
Disgorged Dec 2, 2015. This is a mouthful of grower goodness here! Rich and full-bodied, with an explosion of almond creme lemon chiffon mousse…then a fine attack of piercing citrus acidity, and crushed slate and rock geology. The fruit is a nice just underripe tartness…apple, white peach, grapefruit, lemon…creamed up with some smoked vanilla bean, and yeasty bread dough…flower pretties. I really like the weighty texture, yet with piercing acidity, and the mix of candied dry fruits to the saline minerality. Unbelievable QPR at $29! (94 pts.)
