TN: 2012 Ridge Lytton Springs (USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley)

This looks to be headed into a sullen phase. It still has great density and balance, but the aromatics are muted, and it shows much more mid-palate tannin. I think it is time to let this sit in the cellar for a while.

I agree. Had a half bottle last week. My GF wouldn’t drink it after a sip and she generally loves ridge wines.

Geez, this is drinking really well tonight. My note from 3 years ago said it was too oaky and needed to sit longer. This is very polite tonight - restrained but very pretty. Oak has dissipated somewhat, just very well integrated with a silky finish. Really enjoying this now. (92 pts.)
