2005 Vosne Romanee "Aux Malconsorts" - Potel

2005 Vosne Romanee “Aux Malconsorts” - Potel
Youthful deep crimson red with amber edge.
Rich, spicy, blackberry nose with vanillan oak undertones.
Powerful, young, firm, black fruited wine with a long, dry, tannic finish.
Unfortunately (for me at least), this is still a fetus and will, need a decade or two of aging to reach a peak.
The potential is obvious but only younger folks will get to truly enjoy this. [cry.gif]
This sucker will last for many, many years.
For now: [91 pts] (but will surely rise as it matures)

This is NOT the kind of wine a 66 yr old guy should own.
Will probably put the remaining bottles up for sale in the near future…

This was always the most tannic of Potel’s Vosnes. Some years maybe even too much.

We had A Dujac 05 Malconsorts in December. Like yours it was way too young. Too bad, as it was a good drink when it was really young.

I was thinking of opening the 2006 Potel Malconsorts in the near future. I tried the 2006 Gaudichots which was quite open and enjoyable.
