2014 Staglin Salus Chardonnay

Purchased from a customer.

Brilliant medium gold color. Lovely intense open piquant nose with white flowers, lemon and ginger notes. The palate is medium bodied with an excellent lush texture, flavors have notes of apricot, bosc pear and ginger gold apple. The finish is moderately long, but not compared to the intensity… something this delicious should hang on and linger a little longer. Still, a superb Chardonnay. Rated 93.5, could possibly improve a point or more. I have two more and will wait a year before cracking another. Very good value for the $28 I paid, still fair at the $50 asking price on the winery web site, especially considering the train wreck previously known as white Burgundy.
