2012 Roblar Pinot Noir Arroyo Seco

Commercial post: This was purchased from Last Bottle. They buy wine from me. I bought a wide range from them on their big sale last month, paying from $10 – 249 per bottle. Any time I post on a wine I bought from them, I will note that it was purchased from a customer.

Medium garnet color. Fresh aromas feature fresh red plums with a hint of black cherry and some noticeable earth, very pleasant. The palate is nicely silky, if not very intensely varietal, with surprisingly soft red plum and now red cherry flavors, the earthiness of the nose follows through nicely on the palate. The finish is not perfectly harmonious, with a touch of alcohol (just looked at the label… 15.4%… about 2 – 3 points more than I like, or in other words, ouch!). However the overall impression is very pleasing, with a cobbled-together faux-Asian chicken dinner. Rated 88.4. I only bought one bottle, shouldda bought a few more for ten bucks.
