TN: 1995 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque

  • 1995 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque - France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie (6/25/2016)
This is an outstanding wine in an outstanding place. perfect balance, smooth, sharp tannins full resolved, smooth white pepper is the dominant flavor with a bit of sweet red fruit. This was a pop and pour. Maybe it would have opened up a bit more with more fruit after a decant, but it was just fine the wa it was. I had a 1970 La Mouline in December and this was fresher, much more vibrant and far superior. Absent weird factors like 42 degree storage at Berne’s, I think La Las do best at about 20-ish years. Thanks for the note, Jay.

Had all 3 lala from 1995 in 2010 and they were clearly memorable. Mouline showed best as expected.
So you mean that my 1999 lala could be enjoyed from 2019?

I have a pungo. Send the bottle to me and I will check it out for you.
