2013 Alzinger Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Steinertal - Austria, Niederösterreich, Wachau (6/24/2016)
Floral fruit nose jumps out of the glass, palate is somehow restrained and explosively intense, all at once, with blazing acidity, fabulous depth, but with finesse and elegance. Quintessential Gruner, doesn’t get much better than this. Certainly will get better with age, but so lively and enticing now. (94 pts.)
