1996 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (2/6/2016)
Drank at bar of Vie. Roumier killed it in 96 and this is another example. Drinking stupendous now with excellent balance and no excessive acid. Dark fruit with a touch of earth. Excellent nose and length. I’ll buy more if reasonable. -
2004 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Riserva Monfortino - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (2/5/2016)
pulled this to take a look see. Had at Maple and Ash. Large scale wine with perfect balance. Licorice and heavy minerality. finish goes on and on. Great wine. -
2001 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru (2/4/2016)
Drinking very well. Nice depth here. Iron and mineral with a mix of dark fruit. Everything in balance and holding in a great place. -
2008 Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (2/4/2016)
Damn. I meant to pull the 04. Hard to believe this was 08. Rich wine. Very thick and needs a lot of time. Classic Rayas with Kirsch dominate. This place is unbelievable.
